I recently presented one of my own songs to a lyrical analysis class, to see what the public response would be; and one of the students made a comment that really made an impression on me. She said, "it seems like the author of this song uses the words 'love' and 'music' to mean the same thing." This couldn't have described my relationship with music any better. For me, love and music have always been intertwined to the point where I really do feel like I can use them interchangeably -- and nowhere is this more evident than in my writing.
